Lighting Tower Safety and Operational List

Safety at the worksite is one of the biggest priorities that should be maintained. People generally forget to install light towers at their work site and it is mostly an afterthought that comes to our mind. We then think that we should have installed the light towers. Just like flashlights, light towers form a crucial part of worksites when the sun goes down.

Operation of the light towers

When you have moved the machine onsite, you need to set it up properly. This set up is the process between getting the machine to the job site and starting it. After setting the machine in the right position, you need to ensure that all the switches are turned off before you start the machine. After you start the machine, you should let it run empty for a few minutes before applying the load.

Maintenance of light tower

There are several filters in the machine. Proper maintenance and upkeep of the light tower will ensure that you are cleaning the fuel and air filters properly. You can reduce the work of cleaning the filters if you use clean and efficient fuel for running the machine. This is also a part of the maintenance of the light tower.

1. You should always wear safety equipment while you are operating the equipment. 

2. Generally, the safety gear includes, goggles, dust masks, ear plugs, safety gloves, and hats. 

3. You should not use the light tower when you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

4. When you are refuelling the light tower, you should close the engine. 

5. Some engine components get hot after use, you should not touch them else you will burn yourself.

6. You should take extra care while lighting any fire near the battery of the light tower. When you are servicing the light tower, disconnect the battery terminals. 

Before you proceed with the maintenance work of the light tower, make sure that you have shut down the machine so that it cools off. It is safe to touch the machine parts only when it is cooled down.
